The fighters from the Polish air force's 1st Tactical Squadron will patrol Baltic airspace for four months. This is the third time Polish MiG-29s have been deployed to Siauliai, following three-month missions in January-March 2006 and March-June 2008. The only other Soviet era aircraft to perform the mission were MiG-21 Lancers in August-October 2007.
