A Belgian A109 helicopter has conducted its first medical evacuation mission in support of the French-led Operation Serval in Mali. Yesterday afternoon, the helicopter evacuated a wounded French soldier from Timbuktu to the field hospital in Sévaré, where two Belgian A109s are based. The French soldier was in category C and the mission lasted four hours, including the three hour round-trip flight.
