    Here's an abbreviated version of the Strategic Defense and Security Review unveiled today by the U.K. government:

    BAE Systems MRA4 Nimrod -- cancelled

    Lockheed Martin C-130J -- retired a decade early

    Raytheon R1 Sentinel (Astor) -- to be retired early.

    BAE Systems Harrier -- to be retired next year.

    Lockheed Martin F-35 -- Cut and delayed. Final numbers unknown. Switch to F-35C from F-35B (not clear if for RAF and Royal Navy, or just RN).

    Airbus A400M -- 22 to be bought.

    AirTanker FSTA Refuelers -- PFI retained at 14 aircraft.

    RC-135 Rivet Joints -- purchase plans retained

    Tornado GR4 -- retained, for now. Numbers still under review.

    Boeing Chinooks -- 12 more to be bought.

    AgustaWestland Wildcat -- retained for Army and Royal Navy.

    Aircraft carriers -- cut, restructured, and delayed until 2020.

    Trident replacement -- delayed. New in-service date: 2028
