Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo successfully completed its first glide flight early this morning (Oct 10) at Mojave, Calif.

Scaled Composites, which designed, built and tested the vehicle, is expected to reveal full details shortly. The glide flight was undertaken in perfect weather conditions, and followed a rehearsal mission conducted on Sept 30 in which a simulated SS2 descent was flown to low approach. For that flight the chief pilot was Pete Siebold in SS2.

    More details to follow.
