Philippine Airlines (PAL) has ordered 10 additional Airbus A330s, on top of the order for nearly 75 Airbus aircraft it placed in August.
The latest PAL deal includes 10 A330-300 high gross weight version aircraft, with sufficient range to operate from Manila to any destination in the Asia Pacific region, including Honolulu, as well as to the Middle East, according to an Airbus statement.
“This additional order will complete our current medium-to-long range requirements under our fleet modernization program,” PAL President Ramon Ang says in the Airbus statement.
In late August, PAL placed an order for 44 Airbus A321s, 10 A321 NEOs and 10 A330-300s.
PAL is already an Airbus A320-family and A330 operator, and is acquiring more to replace its older aircraft and expand its fleet.
