Cessna Aircraft is growing its service capabilities with the recent acquisition of a facility in the U.K. and the opening of a center in Valencia, Spain.
The company acquired a 50,000-sq.-ft. facility at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and rebranded the facility Doncaster Citation Service Center. Formerly Kinch Aviation Services, the facility had been operating for 15 years, and for the past four as a Cessna authorized service facility.
Joe Hepburn, Cessna senior vice president customer service, says the center, which has a range of Citation service capabilities, had built up a proven record for customer service, and adds that Doncaster has been a popular location for Citation owners.
The facility is the fourth Cessna-run Citation Service Center in Europe, joining facilities in Paris, Prague and Valencia. The company held the grand opening of the 100,400-sq.-ft. Valencia center on Sept. 17. That center, which includes 62,400 sq. ft. of hangar space and 38,000 sq. ft. of office space, was designed to provide repair, completion, fulfillment, maintenance and customization services for customers in Western Europe and North Africa.
“The rapid growth of the region’s Citation fleet to more than 1,000 aircraft prompted us to step up our support network,” Hepburn says. “Our European customers have been asking for modernization and paint capabilities.”
