Airbus and Satair plan to open their first joint warehouse -- one in Singapore that will open in February 2014.

Both companies already operate their own spares and sales office in Singapore, but this new joint one will consolidate their operations to gain synergies and triple the number of spare parts available, Marcus Jungermann, Airbus’ VP material and logistics operations, tells Aviation Week on the sidelines of MRO Europe.

He thinks the combined facility in Singapore will reach its capacity in three years, although Airbus has land rights to expand at that time, if necessary, to keep up with the Airbus growth in the region.
