ILA 2012: New Site, New Record

“All systems are go!” says ILA 2012 Director Stefan Grave. “The inaugural event at Berlin ExpoCenter Airport will be the most spectacular.” Even before the show opens it had a record number of exhibitors: over 1,200 from more than 40 nations, against 1,153 at ILA 2010. Countries exhibiting for the first time include Estonia, Greece, Ireland and Serbia. ExpoCenter Airport covers 250,000 sq m, with 20,000 sq m of permanent exhibition halls, plus outdoor display areas and temporary buildings. Some 48,000 cu m of earth were removed to level the the site, 11,000 m of water pipes and 34,000 m of electrical cabling set underground, and 69,000 sq m of asphalt surfacing laid.
