SR Technics and Paris-based carrier Aigle Azur are setting up a line maintenance joint venture (JV) in France to support the airline’s Airbus A320 family fleet.
The JV, which will be based at Paris Orly, will support the French carrier’s four A319s, five A320s and four A321s and broaden the MRO provider’s presence in France.
As part of the deal, SR Technics will open line stations in Marseille and Lyon, doubling its number of stations in France. SR Technics has stations at Paris Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports.
The scope of services will include basic line maintenance with “extended” light maintenance such as cabin work, painting, sheet metal repairs and engine washing, SR Technics says.
The deal broadens cooperation between the two companies. In 2010, Aigle Azur tapped SR Technics to provide A checks and C checks for its fleet. That work is done at both Orly and Zurich.
SR Technics says it will be the JV’s majority shareholder.
