After a decade in business together, ST Aerospace and AirAsia have signed an $80 million 10-year agreement covering component repair management support for 75 of AirAsia’s Airbus A320 aircraft, effective immediately.
Before the new contract, ST Aerospace provided component repair support for 100 AirAsia A320 aircraft, an agreement signed in 2007, when AirAsia expanded its fleet. Following the new maintenance-by-the-hour contract, ST Aerospace will provide component repair management for a total of 175 of AirAsia’s A320s.
“ST Aerospace has been a reliable partner, consistently providing us with high-quality and cost effective maintenance, repair and overhaul services,” says Tony Fernandez, group CEO of AirAsia.
The two companies first partnered in 2002, when AirAsia signed on ST Aerospace to provide component rotable management and support services for its fleet of five Boeing 737-300s.
